St. Paul`s Care Home
St. Paul`s Care Home
We are very fortunate to have a residential Care Home which provides medical and pastoral care for our frail and elderly sisters.
St. John`s Community
The Sisters in St. John`s Community who are based in the Care Home share their lives through prayer, celebration and mutual support. they endeavour all they can to help sisters who are elderly or frail.
They extend a warm welcome to Sisters` families and friends and try to make their visits as enjoyable as possible. The Sisters offer much support to relatives in times of bereavement.
Celebration is very important to the Sisters and many celebrations take place including Sister`s Jubilees, Feast Days and many more celebrations throughout the year.
Deputy Manager and Manager of the Care Home
STATEMENT OF INTENT from Carol Osborne, Service Manager of St. Paul`s Nursing Home
Sisters who are resident in St. Paul`s Nursing Home are cared for to a high standard, by a dedicated team of caring staff who in consultaion and with involvement of the sisters themselves ensure that all thier individual needs are met.
As Manager, working with the Deputy Manager, it is our responsibility to ensure that the Nursing Home runs smoothly and consistently and that all clinical , operational and health and Safety prodedures are met and adhered to.
We also work closely with the Leadership Team, the Nursing Home superior and the Sisters` relatives, who take an active interest in the wellbeing of the sisters in our care.
The Nursing Home has twenty four hour care cover provided by Nurses and Carers.
Each sister in the Nursing Home is treated as an individual and is directly involved (where possible) in the development of their personalised Care Plan Package and subsequent regular reviews.
Although this is a Registered Nursing Home, this is very much the Sisters own home and they are free to come and go as they please, as well as have family or friends visit.
The Religious routine of the day is very important to the Sisters and Staff endeavour to facilitate their attendance at Mass, prayer and retreat times. Sisters who are more frail can participate through the audio system which is linked to their own rooms.
We ensure that every Sister is treated with compassion, dignity and the respect they deserve as a Sister of Saint Paul.
Our vision for the future of the Nursing Home is that we will work collaboratively with the sisters to ensure they feel empowered and are involved in developing and planning their individualised and
person centred care.
We will strive to create a homely environment by all we say and do, promoting independence, choice and positive risk taking, maximising the full potential of each Sister to live her life in the manner she wishes.
